The Convention marked the launch of FEBA’s 2030 Strategy, which aims to increase annual food redistribution by 20%, from the equivalent of 2 billion to 2.4 billion meals, supporting up to 15 million people each year. This ambition comes at a time when an estimated 42 million Europeans cannot afford a quality meal every other day, while food banks face growing demand and increasingly complex food recovery challenges. 

As a long-standing FEBA partner, Brambles is proud to support a network that redistributes the equivalent of two billion meals annually across 28 European countries. Through our expertise in circular supply chains, logistics and collaboration, we help strengthen food recovery systems that create social impact while reducing waste. 

During the anniversary celebrations, Brambles was honoured to receive recognition for its continued contribution to FEBA’s mission. The partnership is further strengthened through our connection with the Global FoodBanking Network (GFN). Through these organisations, Brambles is able to have global reach in its support of food banks – both in Europe and across the Global South. Juan José Freijo (Brambles’ Chief Sustainability Officer) also serves on the GFN Board, helping foster international collaboration and the sharing of best practices to tackle food insecurity and food waste at scale.

Supporting food banks is a key part of Brambles’ Food Positive 2030 ambition, through which we aim to not only to achieve year-on-year increases in food waste avoided and food surplus rescued, but also to drive efficiency and resilience in food rescue networks.
