In addition to our target to regenerate two hectares for every one used, Brambles is supporting improved biodiversity outcomes by aiming to implement or contribute to one biodiversity initiative across five timber sourcing regions. By embedding biodiversity into our Forest Positive target area, we focus not only on land regeneration, but also on improving habitat condition, supporting species diversity and strengthening ecological resilience.

Located within the same landscapes as our timber sourcing operations in KwaZulu-Natal, our partnership with Wildlife Act is supporting the monitoring and conservation of threatened wildlife in and around our timber farms in South Africa.

The catchment area in which Brambles sustainably manages timber farms in South Africa provides important habitats for species like the blue swallow and the endangered long-toed tree frog. Brambles is working both within these farms and across the wider region with organisations like Wildlife Act to promote nature-positive initiatives and regenerative actions that target these important species, alongside other local species like vultures, rhino, pangolins and wild dogs.

Critical species like these are key indicators of ecosystem health. Their protection strengthens biodiversity across interconnected ecosystems, improves landscape resilience and contributes to the long-term sustainability of forests and supply chains critical to Brambles.
